Sara, an American ex-pat in the Netherlands, thought she was on a set path. She imagined she’d be working forever.

When she discovered the Financial Independence / Retire Early movement, that changed.

Negotiating the fine line between intentionality and frugality, she keeps her savings rate above 60% while still spending on the things that bring her joy.

Now that this door has been opened to Sara, she’s excited about the possibilities of having more freedom and more ownership of her life.
