Francis’ interests lie at the intersection of behaviour, ecology and conservation of fishes and marine invertebrates. His team studies underwater soundscapes with a focus on quantifying the effects of noise on fish and marine mammal communication, and also investigates the early life of Pacific salmon once they have entered the ocean.
