Similarly, a polarity is a pair of truths that don’t cancel each other out—they balance each other.\nYou experience this every day. You can want independence and connection at the same time. You can feel confident in one moment and insecure in the next. You can love someone deeply and still feel frustrated by them.\nWisdom traditions say this is not a mistake. This is what being human feels like.\nThe Zen tradition captures the sentiment beautifully in a single line:\n“You are perfect just as you are… and you could use a little improvement.”\nAt first, it sounds impossible. \nBut it points to something essential:\nYou are whole—and you’re still becoming.\nYou are worthy—and you’re unfinished.\nYou have goodness in you—and you have a shadow too.\nParadox isn’t a problem to solve. \nIt’s a tension to live in.\n\n---\n \n 🖇️ Stay Connected: \nInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/perennialmeditations/\nYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@PerennialMeditations\n---\n \n 🦉 Additional Resources: \nPerennial Meditations archive: https://perennial.substack.com/archive\nListen to more podcasts: https://www.perennialleader.com/podcasts","thumbnail_url":"https://img.transistorcdn.com/S9nkr-A73R2aawPu1a8VCgtIH30UnQCenCk2Bl1jeUU/rs:fill:0:0:1/w:400/h:400/q:60/mb:500000/aHR0cHM6Ly9pbWct/dXBsb2FkLXByb2R1/Y3Rpb24udHJhbnNp/c3Rvci5mbS9kYTJl/MDY5YTc3YzI1ZDI4/YTk4N2I5MTkwZDA0/NjBkMy5wbmc.webp","thumbnail_width":300,"thumbnail_height":300}
