He holds both a Bachelor and Master’s Degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University and is a licensed Social Worker. Prior to his graduate work, Matthew developed an interest in children’s issues through mentorship programs and an internship within Columbus City Schools. These issues are what moved him toward policy work instead of traditional Social Work positions During and after his graduate work, he worked for the Ohio House of Representatives with State Representative Brigid Kelly where he helped draft legislation and handled constituent outreach and casework.
