This may require grazing additional land (silage ground, replacement heifer area)\n-       Increase feed supplementation (ration, silage)\n-       Remove surplus animals\n-       Hold rotation length using these options to ensure growth isn’t further hampered\n \nWalk the farm more frequently as grass growth and grazing conditions can and will change fast.\n \nThere is also huge variation in fertiliser and slurry applied to date across the country owing to ground conditions and grass covers.  A focus should be put on getting nutrients where possible to ensure production is on track for the year ahead\n \nMeanwhile, the featured farmer is Declan Flynn from Kilmallock, Co. Limerick.\n \nRead more from this week’s Grass10 newsletter and subscribe for weekly updates at:\nhttps://bit.ly/Grass10-14thApril\n \nFor more episodes from the Dairy Edge podcast go to the show page at:\nhttps://www.teagasc.ie/animals/dairy/the-dairy-edge-podcast/\n \nThe Dairy Edge is a co-production with LastCastMedia.com","thumbnail_url":"https://img.transistorcdn.com/FizPp2YqaNPbmx7kOdSSeqe3lGqQ33mTmLaxiS1YEus/rs:fill:0:0:1/w:400/h:400/q:60/mb:500000/aHR0cHM6Ly9pbWct/dXBsb2FkLXByb2R1/Y3Rpb24udHJhbnNp/c3Rvci5mbS9zaG93/LzEwMTc5LzE1ODgz/Mjc3MzMtYXJ0d29y/ay5qcGc.webp","thumbnail_width":300,"thumbnail_height":300}
