He won stages in all three grand tours (Tour de France: 4 individual stage victories 2016, 2017, 2022 ; Giro d'Italia: 3 individual stages 2014, 2015, 2023 ; Vuelta a España: 3 individual stages 2013, 2014) one of a handful of cyclists to achieve said accomplishment.
