While there were some rash accusations of 'nepo baby' status, it seems that economic casualty seems fairer. \nTrained as an architect Beth went where the work was after the global economic crisis in 2008 and found her true calling in structural engineering. As the only Passive House-qualified structural engineer in the UK, she is well-versed in trying unconventional approaches to structural design, planning for the future, and considering best use of resources.\n\nNotes from the episode\nThe Build Collective website\nHere’s the link for the ACAN talk and a link to the ACAN event page \nIStructE Climate Emergency info\nAn IStructE retrofit event\nICE Decarbonisation info\nICE Knowledge Networks (some of which are geared towards climate emergency issues)\n\n**SOME SELF-PROMOTING CALLS TO ACTION**\nWe don't actually earn anything from this, and it's quite a lot of work, so we have to promote the day jobs.\nZero Ambitions Partners email address - zap@eiux.agency\nSubscribe and advertise with Passive House Plus (UK edition here too)\nJoin ACAN\nJoin the AECB \nJoin the IGBC\nListen to Accelerate to Zero, Sara's podcast produced at BE-ST, on Apple or Spotify \nEmail Alex and Dan about websites, branding, and communications - zap@eiux.agency; Everything is User Experience\n\n**END OF SELF-PROMOTING CALLS TO ACTION**","thumbnail_url":"https://img.transistorcdn.com/imp-PGTK0p-Yir06lCKyRzcHa9UWxL7NtYiXEdkSiXw/rs:fill:0:0:1/w:400/h:400/q:60/mb:500000/aHR0cHM6Ly9pbWct/dXBsb2FkLXByb2R1/Y3Rpb24udHJhbnNp/c3Rvci5mbS9zaG93/LzI2NDY5LzE2OTYy/ODc4ODAtYXJ0d29y/ay5qcGc.webp","thumbnail_width":300,"thumbnail_height":300}
