Once, two friends, while on a pilgrimage, became lost on their way and, suffering from hunger, wandered here and there. Finally, they reached a village and while they were eating, they heard a verse spoken by the people around them. Upon hearing this, one of them thought to himself, “Since food is scarce, I should not eat too much, for it may hinder my pilgrimage.”.
