Bram Cohen is an American computer scientist who invented the BitTorrent file-sharing protocol. He is also considered an early cypherpunk, because he’s been dedicated to creating privacy-oriented and peer-to-peer (P2P) software. Cohen co-founded the company BitTorrent Inc. in 2004, which is still around today.
