Mark Parmerlee is President and CEO of Golden Tree Restaurants, which has ownership in Fireside Pies, Jalapeno Tree, Texadelphia, Heff’s Burgers, JC’s Burger House/Bar, Lola’s Handcrafted Sandwiches and Golden Chick restaurants. Mark purchased Golden Chick in 1989, later buying out his partners in 1997. Prior to purchasing Golden Chick, Mark attended The School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University, spent time as a real estate and hospitality consultant at a large accounting firm, worked in real estate development and had a stint as an investment banker in NYC.While Mark has experienced an array of health problems throughout his professional career, he has no intention of slowing down. Following two liver transplants in 2002 and 2004, Mark became a volunteer at Baylor Hospital, regularly visiting and speaking to patients going through the transplant process to evaluate them as viable candidates. In addition to regularly volunteering, Mark also sits on the Circle Ten Council, Boy Scouts of America’s Executive Board and is the co-founder of the Circle Ten Council Sporting Clays Tournament.
