In this episode, Dillon and Charlie talk with the incoming William E. Crenshaw Dean of the Hankamer School of Business, Dr. Sandeep Mazumder, about his work as an economist, future plans for the Hankamer School of Business, and of course, entrepreneurship - You won't want to miss it!
An extremely accomplished professor and researcher, Dr. Sandeep Mazumder received his B.A. and M.A. in economics from St. Catharine’s College at Cambridge University and his M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from Johns Hopkins University. He joined Wake Forest in 2009 as an assistant professor of economics, was named the department chair in 2016, and promoted to the rank of full professor in 2020.
Mazumder's research and teaching interests include macroeconomics, monetary economics, international monetary economics and time-series econometrics. In addition to his academic role, Mazumder served on several boards, committees and working groups at Wake Forest, including the Learning Assistance Center Faculty Advisory Board, Chairs’ Ad Hoc Committee to Survey Office of the Dean of the College, College Academic Commons Working Group overseeing the construction of a new academic building on the campus, Dean’s Ad Hoc Merit Evaluation Committee, Curriculum Committee that oversaw additions and revisions to the university curriculum and as faculty advisor for the formation of a new Wake Forest study-away program in San Francisco.
