As the regional capital of Tuscany, Florence is home to the Renaissance.

You could walk around the city and not step foot inside a museum or church and still feel as though you were walking in history and that you had experienced the city.

However there are a few places you'll want to go into (and pay for) as well some spots you can experience for free.
