A member of a political people which supports the legalization of euthanasia has some strong words for those who believe in "political ideologies opposed to the saving of lives"; the New York Times has decided it believes in magic words and will sack anyone who utters them without performing the appropriate rituals; and a reminder that more than half of Irish MEPs, when asked to vote on it, were unwilling to say that Ireland should not be designated as a tax haven.
