It’s time for The Third Beer podcast and today’s guest is my close mate, a brother from another mother, Greg Przybylski. Co-host therapist (and now yoga instructor) Chris Dickson completes the trio. Greg has been there for me in some of my toughest moments. He’s worked overseas on super yachts for decades but even a voice on a phone is really important when you need support. When Greg is at port we always make time for each other. I steer the topics after spending an afternoon with my marketing hero, Gary Vaynerchuk! Greg, Chris and I chat around numerous motivational personalities of our generation. There’s some cracker quotes flying around the room today. Chris challenges this mainstream self-help with Buddhism principles, which is an absolute head-spin in perspective. Is mindful meditation actually helpful? Chris tests Brett on why we strive? Is it for happiness or for a million dollars? And last but not least, can negative words like ‘fail’ motivate and cause positivity or should negative wording be removed from the self-help industry? It’s quite journey through today’s beer tasting because remember: life’s a journey not a race.
The Third Beer is a regular Podcast hosted by Psychologist Chris Dickson and Brett McCallum. Each week they invite a special guest into the studio to talk about men’s health, mental health and general wellbeing whilst sharing a few beers. The focus is on those subjects that blokes find it hard to talk about. Brett has already shared a year-long mental health journey with the help of Chris, and although he is still a work-in-progress, Brett has seen himself become a better human being. While the chat with each week’s special guest will take place in a very informal setting and with an informal style, the conversation and topics are taken 100% seriously. Lets break down personal and world issues, one beer at a time.
