This week Mikki talks to Mal Law, adventurer, fundraiser, storyteller and co-founder of Wild Things, the hub of kiwi trail running where members can find resources that give countless ideas, inspiration and information on where to run.
Show Notes
Mal has inspired countless people to chase their own adventures as he turned his love of trail running and adventure into philanthropic ventures, raising over $800,000 for Leukaemia & Blood Cancer NZ and Mental Health NZ with his 7 in 7 campaign (running 7 Great Walks in 7 days) and the High 5-0 challenge (running up 50 peaks in 50 days) before turning his attention to building a solid community of trail runners online, with Wild Things. Mikki and Mal talk about this and how to build a foundation and story to support a charity, they talk about Mal’s battle with chronic fatigue. We also mention the soon to be launched event, The Wild, a 100 mile event run across the bottom of the South Island in the area Mal now calls home. Enjoy this conversation!
What is Mikkipedia?
Mikkipedia is an exploration in all things health, well being, fitness, food and nutrition. I sit down with scientists, doctors, professors, practitioners and people who have a wealth of experience and have a conversation that takes a deep dive into their area of expertise. I love translating science into a language that people understand, so while some of the conversations will be pretty in-depth, you will come away with some practical tips that can be instigated into your everyday life. I hope you enjoy the show!
