The Discouraged Prophet

We welcome you to our worship service today from Ocean Lakes Family Campground in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

For the past few Sundays we have been looking at some of the prophets from the Old Testament. Today we see another one of God’s chosen men who was called for a special mission God had for him. There may be some people in the Bible whose lives don’t seem to speak to our day or our life, but this man today is one with whom we can all relate. His name is Elijah, whom we are calling “The Discouraged Prophet.”

If you have ever felt sad, depressed, and at your wit’s end, then it just may be that God has a message for you from the life of this man, Elijah. Join us now as we open the pages of God’s Word.

The longtime Chaplain for Ocean Lakes Family Campground has been an inspiration to thousands of campground guests from all over North America. Located on 310 oceanfront acres in Myrtle Beach, SC, Ocean Lakes is one of the largest family-owned campgrounds in the United States and has welcomed travelers for nearly 50 years. The non-denominational Church Service is held in the Recreation Center every Sunday at 9 AM with up to 800 in attendance.
