All things…Episcopal

In this episode… we unpack the meaning of the Blessed Virgin Mary (BVM) or as we here at All Things…Episcopal like to say, The Boss Lady. Fr. David Kendrick talks about how for some Episcopalians they find a meaning in having a devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and how scripture informs a personal devotion to the Boss Lady, our beloved Blessed Virgin Mary. We also have two young adults on this episode, Fr. David Wilcox and Tristan Rouse.

About the Hosts
Clare Stern-Burbano (she/her) is a member of the laity and currently a youth and college minister at a parish in Kansas City, MO and third-year seminarian at Univ. of Dubuque Theological Seminary. She hopes of one day becoming an Episcopal priest. Clare comes from an interfaith family and found a spiritual home in the Episcopal Church when she was nine years old.

The Rev. David Kendrick (he/him) serves as the Rector at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Springfield, MO in the Diocese of West Missouri. He is married to Laura and they are really proud of their son, John, their daughter-in-law, Nancy, and two young grandsons.

About our Guests:

The Rev. David Wilcox (he/him)
Serves as the Missioner for Youth Ministry in the Diocese of West Missouri and as Assisting Priest at St. Augustine's Episcopal Church in Kansas City. Before finding his way to the Episcopal Church in 2015 David spent time in the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Churches. He is passionate about the Gospel, formation, history, coffee and little known (and less cared about) information. David and his husband Zach live in Belton with their energetic (and not at all spoiled) dog Ollie.

Tristan Rouse (he/him) is 22 years old and a lay member at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Lee's Summit, MO. He is a former Ministerial Servant in the Jehovah's Witnesses religion and has recently found his home in The Episcopal Church. Tristan is very passionate about theology, mysticism, tradition, and activism against religious abuse.
