Sometimes, life puts a soul in your path who changes everything. For Jess and Jake Robinson, that soul was Kia—a trembling, neglected dog they found in a heartbreaking state. Her eyes were full of fear, her body scarred by a past no one could fully explain.
But what Jess and Jake saw wasn’t just pain—they saw possibility. Love. A spark that deserved a second chance.
What followed was a two-year battle through red tape, legal hurdles, and uncertainty. They could have walked away. But they didn’t.
This is the story of how one couple refused to give up on a dog the world had forgotten—and how, in the end, Kia found not just a home, but a family. This story is in honour of National Dog Rescue Day which was on Tuesday May 20th.
