Drunk as a Poet on Payday

Today I have the pleasure of speaking to poet Austin Allen, about his recent book, The Travels of Blad J. Garamond: In Search of Geneviève Sans-Serif. A novel in verse about a love triangle and typography! Austin Allen is also the author of the poetry collections Pleasures of the Game (Waywiser Books), winner of the Anthony Hecht Poetry Prize, and Dissent, forthcoming from Ohio University Press as the winner of the Hollis Summers Poetry Prize. His poems have appeared in Poetry, Ploughshares, The Yale Review, The Sewanee Review, Smartish Pace, and other publications.

What is Drunk as a Poet on Payday?

Good news is sometimes hard to come by for poets, and what’s better news than a new book! Celebrate with us as Jason Gray hosts an interview podcast with poets discussing their new books. Each episode is a smart, fun look into the world of poetry, where the guests read several poems for their new work, and talk about how their books came to be, and how they write the way they do.
