Longtime Montana track and field head coach Brian Schweyen abruptly resigned in August of 2020. Clint May, one of the most successful prep cross country coaches in state history, was named the interim head coach after only one year as the head of UM's cross country program and distance runners.

Longtime Montana track and field head coach Brian Schweyen abruptly resigned in August of 2020. Clint May, one of the most successful prep cross country coaches in state history, was named the interim head coach after only one year as the head of UM's cross country program and distance runners. 

May led Bozeman High to nine girls' and boys' Class AA state cross country titles in 10 seasons, serving as the architect of one of the greatest dynasties in Montana prep sports history. After serving as the head coach for three years at a Division III school in Virginia, May is back in the Treasure State and trying to put his mark on the UM track program.
