PULSE Zine

In this episode host Neha Saxena sits down with Camryn Chew - an actor, poet and writer. Camryn, whose poetry is featured in this year's edition of the PULSE zine, views herself as a multidisciplinary artist. During this episode, she discusses the many barriers Artists of Colour face as they pursue their dreams; healing from trauma; and the importance of amplifying the voices of people from marginalized groups.

What is PULSE Zine?

PULSE is a zine created annually by the Students of Colour Collective (SOCC) at the University of Victoria. The zine aims to celebrate our communities, and provide an outlet for BIPOC to share their experiences, stories and artistry. This year, the PULSE zine includes a podcast component, in collaboration with CFUV 101.9FM, wherein each episode we sit down with a BIPOC artist who is featured in this year's edition of PULSE, to talk about art, the importance of community, and what compels them to create.
