Saul is unaware that David and his men are hidden deep in the cave he decides to use for a latrine. While Saul relieves himself, David cuts off a portion of Saul's clothing. After Saul leaves the cave, David reveals his location and points out that he has not killed Saul when he could have. Saul weeps and asks David not to kill his family when he is king.
