On the latest episode of the Pig Edge, Amy Quinn is joined by Teagasc Pig Development Department (PDD) Researcher, Keelin O Driscoll, and Head of Pig Knowledge Transfer, Ciarán Carroll, to discuss WAFL 2021, a recent international welfare research conference that took place last month, hosted by Teagasc and the University College Cork.
Together they tell us some of the key points for pig producers from the many presentations and posters at the event and they detail the highlights from the many Teagasc PDD representations.
Keelin also tells us about a workshop she was involved in organising during the conference which focused on the efforts we have made here in Ireland to raise pigs with intact tails and lets us know that this workshop will be run again for Irish pig producers in the coming weeks.
