Lymphoma Voices

 | In this podcast Roger O’Donnell, who is the keyboard player of the band The Cure, talks about his diagnosis of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. He explains about the treatment he received and about coming to terms emotionally with his diagnosis. In 2023, Roger noticed a lump, but put it down to the demands of touring. Returning to the UK, he contacted his GP, and a scan was organised which indicated that something was wrong. Roger still recalls the fear of waiting for test results. He explains how he was determined to stay strong and get through the treatment, which involved the chemotherapy regimen R-CHOP as well as methotrexate and radiotherapy. He talks about how it was after finishing treatment that the emotions rushed in, and about the importance of family and loved ones. Now back on stage with the band, Roger talks about how his lymphoma experience has impacted his life, as he looks to the future.

Lymphoma Voices is a series of podcasts for people living with lymphoma, and their family and friends. In each podcast, we are in conversation with an expert in their field, or someone who has been personally affected by lymphoma, who shares their thoughts and experiences.
