Ascend Men

One of the striking things about Luke’s gospel is how prominent the Holy Spirit is. Much more so than in Matthew’s account, the Holy Spirit is there in pride of place, right from the beginning. You don’t often hear much about the Holy Spirit at Advent time, but the first few chapters of Luke are absolutely full of references to Him in a vital and starring role.

Show Notes

Today's Scripture
"When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit...His father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied:" Luke 1:41, 67

Key takeaway for the day:
If you’ve never been filled with the Holy Spirit, and want to be, just ask God to let Him come upon you. He’s ready and waiting to answer such requests. Let today be the day you meet Him for the first time.

And if you have experienced the Holy Spirit, go on being ‘filled with the Spirit’ each and every day.
