Not the road trip! Welcome to the Know the Difference Minute for Tuesday, May 10th. We’re itching to travel. In a AAA survey, 52% of Americans were planning to take a vacation this summer. As airline schedules are trimmed and fares increase, the fallback was packing up the Family Truckster. That’s until gas prices started to rise. $3.25. $3.50. Crossing the $4 mark…so today’s AAA announcement of the new national average of $4.37 a gallon is just salt in the wound. Gas prices are up 17 cents in the past week alone. With 4-50 gas on the horizon, is the great summer driving vacation in danger? Hopefully not. In a AAA survey, 42% said they wouldn't consider changing their travel plans regardless of what it costs to fill up. That’s good news to resorts, restaurants, and attractions that need a solid summer of revenue. I’m Dave Spano from Annex Wealth Management. That is your Know the Difference Minute.
