Ryan Horban Photography earned this award on documentary style, destination breadth and independently verifiable third-party recognition. The practice states a clear stylistic position against posed, overly stylized wedding photography, aiming instead to document weddings as they genuinely unfold. Its destination range extends well past the home market of Palm Springs, from Joshua Tree and Big Sur to out-of-state destinations including Telluride, Asheville and Las Vegas, evidence of a genuinely wide-ranging practice rather than a single-market operation. Real event work is credited to named outside event planners on third-party industry platforms, including a wedding at Avalon Palm Springs credited to Michelle Garibay Events and a brand activation at The Parker Palm Springs credited to All Set Events, giving the practice recognition beyond its own marketing. The photographer has expanded from photography alone into wedding videography, evidence of a maturing full-service practice rather than a single fixed product.
