ATX Metal Podcast

This is just a chill episode between two friends so the conversation really goes all over the place to include COVID-19 topics. They talk a lot about automotive stuff for those interested.

Show Notes

In today's episode, Ryan talks with one of his best friends, Shane Miller.  Shane and Ryan have been friends around a decade.  Shane and Ryan formed a bond over performance cars which then lead to metal.  Shane recently moved back to the Round Rock/Austin area and is glad that he did, partly because now he can attend local shows again.

As with most things these days, you need a good source of news. The guys really show their love for NPR and good, fact-based reporting so that they can get accurate information brought to them.  It is really important to make sure the news you are consuming is valid.

Shane has been turning wrenches for a long, long time.  He is currently working at a body shop as a mechanical technician.  Like he said, "I don't make it look good but I can get it from A to B".  Ryan also is a wrench turner and this is one of the areas where they can relate to each other.  Shane explains what his company is doing to help their employees even though they had to lay some people off.  Ryan and Shane go on at length about the automotive field and discuss creating a podcast about do's and dont's for up and coming technicians.

The song featured in today's episode is "Swaggart" by Bury The Rod #supportlocal
