Altruism Unplugged

In episode 4, our Guest is Meg Hanebutt, the Operations Manager of the City Surf Project. CSP is a San Francisco based non profit, that provides equitable access to the ocean through the sport of surfing. Meg details for us how they are fulfilling their mission to provide the underserved youth in the Bay Area valuable life lessons in and out of the water. The program has affiliated itself with 5 different public schools, offering 9, 18, and 36 week surf courses for PE credit and after school activity. They have hosted over 400 surf outings, connecting 2,000 youth to the Ocean. For 80% of their youth, their first experience with the water is with CSP. Meg was raised surfing the mid-Atlantic beaches of Delaware, and is an amazing ambassador for female surfers from all coast to coast.
