BiCurean

For more than 20 years, Terry Moore has been telling compelling, real stories about characters that his readers feel emotionally connected to. And he manages to cover some pretty hefty issues, like PTSD, war, sexual orientation to name a few, while giving us truly entertaining comics.

Show Notes

Erik and I wanted to know how he balances that so well. And since we were lucky enough to sit down with Terry, we asked him questions about his music career; other comics; possible new genre options for Strangers in Paradise; and other interesting tidbits.

Terry was an amazing guest who offered us a peek under the ink. We hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed recording!

Strangers in Paradise has won 2 GLAAD Media Awards and Terry has been nominated more than any other comic book author for GLAAD Media Awards and was nominated again in 2019. His work has won him recognition in the comics industry, including the Eisner Award for Best Serialized Story in 1996 for Strangers in Paradise #1-8, which was collected in the trade paperback "I Dream of You".

What is BiCurean?

BiCurean takes typically combative topics and teaches them to play nice. Our view is the mainstream reactionary rhetoric divides us and only helps those invested in the status quo. We seek to find answers beyond the most obvious.

Join host Aicila as she digs into topics ranging from social and political to geeky and fun. Aicila is looking for the "BiCurean Moment"- the point where contradictions meet or are embraced.

BiCurean was conceived of in 2011 by Aicila as a podcast and originally created as a blog. On hiatus since 2021, she's been eager to start back up, and 2024 will be the year she does. Watch for new episodes, a new format, and just her as the host.
