The ATS recommended the use of race-neutral reference equations for spirometry interpretation in place of race-specific equations in 2023. In this episode, Drs. Brems, Kearney, and Duncan will discuss where we stand with implementation and what challenges clinicians around the shift from race-specific to race-neutral equations, including a focus on how it can impact decision-making in management of lung cancer.
