परोपकारी स्वामी

परोपकारी स्वामी ग्रामे ग्रामे भ्रमन् रोगिणां सेवां कुर्वन् स्वच्छतायाः महत्त्वं प्रचारयति स्म । जनाः तस्य प्रेरणया स्वच्छतायां प्रवृत्ताः । सः मन्दिरे भक्तजनैः अर्पितं सर्वं निर्धनेभ्यः वितरति स्म । कदाचित् विष्णोः दूतः स्वर्णादीनि पुरस्काररूपेण दातुम् आगतः, किन्तु स्वामी उक्तवान्, "मम किमपि आवश्यकं, एतानि निर्धनेभ्यः ददातु ।" तदा दूतः तस्य सेवायाः प्रशंसां कृत्वा मोक्षं दातुम् ऐच्छत्, परन्तु स्वामी उक्तवान् यत् "सेवा एव मम धर्मः" इति ।

The compassionate saint wandered from village to village, serving the sick and promoting the importance of cleanliness. Inspired by him, the people took up the cause of cleanliness themselves. He would distribute all offerings given by devotees at the temple to the needy. One day, a messenger of Lord Vishnu came with gold and other rewards for him, but the saint said, "I need nothing for myself; let these be given to the poor. "The messenger then praised the saint's service and offered him liberation, but the saint replied, "Service is my duty."

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
