Saturday Morning Coffee - the Reese Boyd Radio Hour

Reese and Glenn are back in the Talk 94.5 Studios this week for another fresh-brewed episode of Saturday Morning Coffee! Reese discusses Canadian Truckers' Freedom Convoy; we're joined on the show by Rep. Bill Taylor (R-Aiken) to discuss an important legal opinion from Atty General Alan Wilson, regarding the rights of physicians and others to treat COVID as they deem medically appropriate. We're also joined on the program by Rick Brundrette, Investigative Journalist, who shares with us some of the recent stories he's been working on. Finally, we talk about recent news from the Solicitor's office as we spend some time in the studio with 15th Circuit Solicitor, Jimmy Richardson. Plus, the SMC Parting Wisdom Segment and more!

Show Notes

Welcome to Saturday Morning Coffee for February 12, 2022:

Welcome to Saturday Morning Coffee for February 12, 2022!  Reese opens the show with a brief discussion of Valentines, Groundhog Day, and the Super Bowl.  We talk about one item on Reese's bucket list - to travel to Puxsatawney, PA and "Gobbler's Knob" for Groundhog Day, along with some other "bucket list" destinations in Pennsylvania that are on our list.

Canadian Freedom Truckers:  Reese and Glenn discuss the ongoing saga of the Canadian Freedom Truckers and their ongoing fight for their freedom - and yours!  Reese discusses the significance of the event - which some seem to overlook, and some interesting parallels with other, similar events in the past.

Interview with Reporter Rick Brundrette - Rick Brundrette with the Nerve (www.theNerve.org) joins us on the program to discuss some recent stories his written in the past week, including a story about the SC Gas Tax, and how it doesn't seem to be making a dent in the problem of SC's bad roads and bridges.  We also talk about a story he's written about state funds being spent for the benefit of Boeing and Volvo, without full and complete disclosure from the Department of Commerce that taxpayers deserve and are entitled to!  (After all, it is YOUR money!)  Lastly, Rick discusses an article he wrote this week about a meeting of the Horry County legislative delegation to nominate former Rep. Alan Clemmons to Horry County's vacant Master-In-Equity position, and whether that "meeting" complies with S.C. law, since it wasn't really a meeting, but rather a letter that was circulated privately among delegation members while they were in session at the General Assembly in Columbia.  You can read these and other stories from Rick Brundrette at The Nerve's website - www.theNerve.org

Interview with Rep. Bill Taylor - We're joined on the show by Rep. Bill Taylor (R-Aiken) to talk about an Attorney General's Opinion about physicians' "Right to Treat" in SC and their right to practice medicine free from political pressure and oversight.  We discuss how the "politicization" of the treatment and medical response to COVID-19 has likely cost many thousands of Americans their lives.  Rep. Taylor shares some of his thoughts for dealing with the pressures that physicians and healthcare providers are facing in a world that has bizarrely chosen to make the treatment of a particular disease a political tool and endeavor.

Interview with Solicitor Jimmy Richardson - Fifteenth Circuit Solicitor (Horry, Georgetown Counties) Jimmy Richardson joins us in the studio to discuss some recent developments from the criminal docket and from the Solicitor's office, including a recent case involving an egregious murder that was filmed by the (now convicted) killer, who shared video of the killing with others over the "SnapChat" video sharing service.  Reese and Jimmy also discuss the special challenges posed by vulnerable adults among our retired population, and the example this week of a case involving a suit filed by the victim's family against DSS, with criminal charges brought in the same case against the care-giver for criminal neglect of a vulnerable adult.

In the Parting Wisdom segment, Reese shares a small-ish bit of wisdom he picked up from the "Andy Griffeth" Show and the Town of Mayberry, and as always, closes the show with one of his favorite bits of Proverbial wisdom, Proverbs 3:5-6.  Y'all be blessed!  Have a GREAT WEEK and join us again next weekend for more SATURDAY MORNING COFFEE!!

"Trust in the Lord with all your Heart, and lean not on your own understandings.  In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths."
