उपायचतुरः सङ्कनायकः

षोडशशतके प्रवृत्ता घटना एषा । अन्यमतीयानां दुराक्रमणकारणतः विश्वनाथमन्दिरम् उध्वस्तं, विश्वनाथस्य पूजा स्थगिता च इति विषयः सङ्कनायकं तुदति स्म । सः काषायवस्त्रं धृत्वा देहलीम् अगच्छत् । देहल्याम् अकबरस्य सेनापतिः अङ्कुशाखानः दुर्गद्वारे उद्घोषितवान् - यः आत्मानं खड्गयुद्धनिपुणं मन्यते सः मया सह युद्धं कुर्यात् इति । सङ्कनायकः महत् कौशलं दर्शयन् अल्पे एव काले अङ्कुशाखानस्य शिरश्छेदनम् अकरोत् । तस्य धैर्यं युद्धकौशलं च दृष्ट्वा सन्तोषं प्रकटयन् अकबरः तस्मै उपायनानि दातुम् उद्युक्तः । तत् निराकुर्वन् सङ्कनायकः अवदत् 'काश्यां विश्वनाथस्य पूजां व्यवस्थापयितुम् अनुज्ञा देया' इति । अकबरः सहर्षम् अनुज्ञां दत्तवान् । काशीतः सुदूरे स्थित्वा अपि स्थगितायाः विश्वनाथपूजायाः पुनरपि आरम्भम् उपायेन साधितवतः सङ्कनायकस्य प्रयासः नितरां स्तुत्यः एव ननु ?

In the 16th century, the Visvanatha temple’s worship was halted after invasions. Distressed, Sankanayaka went to Delhi, where he defeated Akbar’s general Ankush Khān in a sword duel. Impressed, Akbar offered him gifts, but Sankanayaka instead requested permission to restore Visvanatha’s worship in Kashi. Akbar agreed, and the temple rituals resumed — a noble act of devotion achieved through courage and selflessness.

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
