Pure Victory Podcast

Sex is God-ordained, powerful, and (hopefully) fun! It can get better every single year in marriage. When couples understand each other and learn to communicate their preferences and sexual desires, sex will be an exciting and fun part of marriage. Trey and Lea Morgan run Stronger Marriages Workshops all over the USA. This week, Trey shares practical and detailed insights about how to prosper with sex in marriage!

Show Notes

Welcome to episode #55!

Trey and Lea have been married for 32 years and have more than one thing going for them. They're new grandparents and new empty-nesters, but there's one thing they're experiencing that isn't new to them: sex is better than ever. Trey says it's been on an upward trend for years and shares how that's possible in this week's episode.

God isn't embarrassed about sex
God intentionally put Song of Solomon in the Bible - a book about a husband and wife chasing each other sexually and talking openly about what sexual acts they're going to do with each other. People might say, "Does God know this is in His book!?" Yes! He loves it! We do a disservice when we don't talk about sex in the home or at church because there's a ton of good things that we can say about it. Trey and Lea loved it when their kids would be grossed out by their physical affection for each other and now as adults, their boys are starting to thank them for the example they set.

Foreplay doesn't start at 9pm in the bedroom
If men wait until bedtime to start romancing their wife, it's not always going to work. Wives need a clean kitchen, clothes off the floor, and flirtation during the day. Evening hinting at sex throughout the day will do wonders in building anticipation and letting both spouses prepare mentally for what's to come. Give each other full body massages, serve each other, and experiment.

Variety is essential
Have sex in different positions, places, times of day, and with the lights on. If your spouse wants to do something you've never done, don't just write it off. Ask why they like it, see if you can try it out and see if you'll like it yourself. If it hurts, don't do it. If you've tried it and don't like it, that's okay. Just commit to being really, really good at something else.

No matter which spouse has the higher sex drive, it's important for both to initiate to keep from bitterness and confusion from driving a wedge between spouses.
