Welcome to Fall River Now. Here's your look at the week ahead in Fall River city government.

The City Council faces a packed agenda Tuesday evening at 5:55. Councilors will consider a loan order for nearly six point nine million dollars for repairs, renovations, and maintenance of the Third Street Parking Garage. Also on the agenda is the mayor's request for confirmation of Ann O'Neil-Souza as the new City Administrator.

The council will also take up several items related to the Route 79/Davol Street Corridor Improvements Project, and review an Open Meeting Law complaint filed by Collin Dias regarding a late July meeting. Other business includes proposed changes to traffic ordinances and handicapped parking rules.

Earlier on Tuesday, at 5 p.m., the Committee on Ordinances and Legislation meets. The committee is set to discuss a proposed ordinance regarding all-night parking for commercial vehicles and another amending rules on solid waste collection. They will also consider a resolution to draft a new ordinance defining the City Council's authority to approve or reject contract renewals for some department heads.

The Fall River Housing Authority meets Monday at 4:30 p.m., with several major spending items up for a vote. The board will consider a change order for over one hundred fifteen thousand dollars to reconstruct fire-damaged apartments at Maple Gardens. Also up for approval is a certificate of completion for electrical upgrades at the Edward F. Doolan Apartments, a project with a final contract amount of over one hundred fifty-three thousand dollars. The authority will also vote on awarding a three-year contract for labor attorney services, not to exceed fifty thousand dollars.

Also on Monday, the School Department's Facilities and Operations Subcommittee meets at 5 p.m. The committee is scheduled to get an update on the city's purchase of the former Bishop Connolly High School. Members will also discuss and vote on referring the memorandum of understanding for School Resource Officers. Other topics include the lease renewal for the Sagamore Mill Complex and updates on school traffic patterns and transportation.

On Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the regional Joint Transportation Planning Group will hold its meeting. The agenda includes considering the release of two draft plans for public comment: one on food access and security in transportation, and another on congestion management in Southeastern Massachusetts.
