Evyn and Dick discuss the challenges and personal experience of the universal oppressor we all face, age.
Evyn Kolczak-Hardy is a first-year student at the University of Montana and has lived in the state his entire life. He is pursuing a degree in political science and is focused on community and the environment.
Dr. Dick Blank is an 87-year-old retired radiologist. He is a father of four and grandfather of eight. He’s been a resident of Missoula for 19 years and actively volunteers roughly 50 hours a month. His wife passed away over 11 years ago due to dementia-related complications.

Rajiem Seabrook is the Director of Strategy and Social Impact at EmpowerMT, a statewide nonprofit with a mission to create a just and inclusive society. Mr. Seabrook is an educational and institutional leader in shaping and promoting equity and diversity-based policies, partnerships, and strategic initiatives that foster inclusive businesses, schools, and communities across Montana. Rajiem is a long-standing community member and passionately engages in athletics, academics, social justice, and political reform. Rajiem is one of several co-founders of the Montana Black Collective-Missoula, serves on the Missoula City & County JEDI Advisory Board, and the Board of Trustees for American Red Cross-Montana. Mr. Seabrook’s devotion as a father, coach, mentor, community leader, connector, and organizer fuels his commitment to creating a better world for future generations.

Hello and welcome to The Handoff: Bridging the Gap, an EmpowerMT project. The Handoff: Bridging the Gap is a community-based podcast centered on issues, challenges, and successes of the youth and elders of the community. The reason for this gathering of minds and souls is to help bridge the gap between generations, as they are often in different rooms, areas, discussions, and environments. This gap has, at times, hindered development, growth, and the ability to transfer knowledge that can help increase and promote well-being, purpose, and commitment to the betterment of a rapidly changing communities.
