Perpetual Learning

The cruelest part of COVID-19 is the level of loneliness it has forced upon our society.

This epidemic doesn’t allow us to be together, even when we most want to be. First, this virus tears us from our friends. Then, it rips us away from our loved ones. Finally, with a cold final punch to the face, it takes us away from houses of religious worship, our fort of safety when the weight of emotional toil is too heavy to shoulder alone.

Each one of us is probably dealing with these issues differently. I believe that there are some of us who may need help or at least know someone who needs help.

While I'm not an expert on mental health, I also don't think you need to be an expert to speak on the topic. This past week I got two of my friends, Nizar and Api, who are on the 'front lines' in terms of helping people who are going through a variety of problems.

Show Notes

A brief introduction to Nizar and Api.

Nizar Hasan - He's a former colleague of mine at GrowthGenius and someone who is incredibly passionate about helping people achieve their maximum potential. He's an engineer by trade, worked in the construction space, did his MBA in Spain and was amazing at building client relationships for GrowthGenius. He's since become a life coach and has started to build out a diverse client base over the past few months. I personally enjoyed his post on the science of well-being - check it out!

Apiman Sivakumar - He's a close friend of mine since high school. He's always shown a knack for helping others and so I'm not surprised to see him working as a mental health worker at Progress Place for the past two years. I'm consistently amazed by the stories he shares about his members - he definitely puts everything I deal with into perspective.
