Colossians: Part 6 – Freedom from Empty Religion

In this message from October 18th, 2026, Chuck Eastman continues our Colossians series with Part 6, "Freedom from Empty Religion," from Colossians 2:16–23. Legalism and spiritualism both offer a status and belonging that depend on us. Chuck walks through the impact of legalism, the trap of spiritualism, and the centrality of Christ: Christian growth is measured by how connected we stay to Christ and his people, not by the rules we keep or the experiences we chase.

If our efforts could have bridged the gap between our sin and God's righteousness, then there would be no need for the cross.
