वृन्दावनगमनमार्गे कञ्चित् साधुं यदा कश्चन पुरुषः अपृच्छत् 'वृन्दावनधाम कियत् दूरे अस्ति ?’ इति तदा साधुः अवदत् 'तिस्रः घण्टाः अपेक्षिताः' इति । यदा अपरः यात्री अपृच्छत् तदा 'होराद्वयम् अपेक्षितम्' इति अवदत् । यदा कश्चन वृद्धः अपृच्छत् तदा 'एका होरा अपेक्ष्यते' इति अवदत् । सम्मुखे स्थितः कश्चन सज्जनः साधुम् अपृच्छत् 'किमर्थं भवान् विभिन्नानि उत्तराणि उक्तवान्?’ इति । तदा साधुः अवदत् 'प्रथपुरुषस्य शिरसि स्थितायां पोटलिकायां पूर्वजन्मकृतानि पापानि, पेटिकायाम् 'अहं गन्तुं शक्नोमि वा न वा ? इति संशयः च आसीत् । द्वितीयस्य मनसि 'मम पत्नी, मम पुत्रः' इति ममत्वम् आसीत् । तृतीयः वृद्धः रिक्तहस्ततया आगतवान् । तस्य मनसि अहङ्कारः, भौतिकासक्तिः वा न आसीत् । अतः मया तत्तज्जनयोग्यतानुगुणम् उत्तरम् उक्तम्' इति ।

On the way to Vṛindāvana, a man asked a saint: ‘How far is the holy place?’ The saint replied: ‘Three hours.’ Another traveler asked, and the saint said: ‘Two hours.’ A third, an old man, asked, and the saint answered: ‘One hour’. A gentleman nearby asked why the saint gave different answers. The saint explained: ‘The first man carried a heavy bundle of past sins and doubts about his ability to reach. The second was burdened with attachments to wife and children. The third, an old man, came empty-handed, free from ego and worldly ties. Therefore, I gave each answer according to his inner state’.

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
