27 00:01:40.659 --> 00:01:44.739 We got to examine that in our own lives, and we know when Jesus cleared out the temple, 28 00:01:45.219 --> 00:01:47.299 after it was cleared out, things started happening. 29 00:01:48.379 --> 00:01:49.519 Healings started to happen. 30 00:01:50.140 --> 00:01:51.379 Blind eyes were open. 31 00:01:51.899 --> 00:01:58.579 The children, since the religious priests wouldn't cry out, Hosanna, Jesus hijacked 32 00:01:58.579 --> 00:02:01.000 the mouth of children, and children cried out, Hosanna. 33 00:02:01.439 --> 00:02:04.359 How many people know that Jesus will get His praise, whether He's going to get 34 00:02:04.359 --> 00:02:06.260 it out of children or He's going to get it out of rocks? 35 00:02:06.299 --> 00:02:09.620 If you won't praise Him, He'll get something else to praise Him, amen? 36 00:02:10.120 --> 00:02:11.560 Because that's why we were created. 37 00:02:12.099 --> 00:02:14.479 You were created to worship Him, to praise Him. 38 00:02:15.419 --> 00:02:18.439 And so we walked through that, the cleansing of the temple. 39 00:02:19.039 --> 00:02:27.319 And then on Wednesday, Tuesday was a day of sacrifice. 40 00:02:27.599 --> 00:02:32.699 We read that Mary, she broke the jar of fragrance over Jesus. 41 00:02:32.939 --> 00:02:35.979 She worshiped Jesus with her fragrance. 42 00:02:37.159 --> 00:02:40.819 The oil, they said it was 20 denarii, which is like a year pay. 43 00:02:41.500 --> 00:02:49.439 And I can imagine, you know, Jesus coming in, that when He went to the cross, He smelled 44 00:02:49.439 --> 00:02:52.240 her worship dripping down His face. 45 00:02:53.180 --> 00:02:58.280 The oil she poured over His head, He smelled that day on the cross. 46 00:03:00.120 --> 00:03:02.500 And then Wednesday was a pretty quiet day. 47 00:03:02.939 --> 00:03:06.900 Wednesday, they think that this is when Judas went in and betrayed Jesus for the 48 00:03:06.900 --> 00:03:07.500 Thirty Shekels. 49 00:03:08.240 --> 00:03:14.219 But then we get to Thursday, and Thursday is where Jesus has the Last Supper. 50 00:03:14.259 --> 00:03:18.919 And He tells the disciples, He says, go and prepare a place. 51 00:03:19.580 --> 00:03:25.159 There'll be a certain somebody that's going to have an inn and an upper room for us 52 00:03:25.159 --> 00:03:28.460 to partake in the Festival on Unleavened Bread. 53 00:03:28.500 --> 00:03:36.240 And this new covenant that's about to take place at this dinner is about to change 54 00:03:36.240 --> 00:03:36.719 the world. 55 00:03:38.360 --> 00:03:43.960 And so in Matthew 26, Matthew 26 is where we're going to be at this morning. 56 00:03:44.919 --> 00:03:49.379 You know, it says that they were sitting at a table, and if you look at Da Vinci's 57 00:03:49.379 --> 00:03:54.500 picture, Leonardo Da Vinci had this painting, it's a very significant painting. 58 00:03:55.060 --> 00:04:00.580 And this painting is of the 12 disciples and Jesus at the Last Supper. 59 00:04:01.360 --> 00:04:05.039 And as we look at this, it's not a true painting, right? 60 00:04:05.039 --> 00:04:09.120 It is a painting, but it isn't a lot of facts that Da Vinci didn't get right. 61 00:04:09.300 --> 00:04:11.340 You know, none of the disciples were old. 62 00:04:11.599 --> 00:04:14.259 All of them were in their late teens, early 20s. 63 00:04:15.120 --> 00:04:20.639 But this is right after Jesus says, one of you will deny Me. 64 00:04:21.959 --> 00:04:24.699 It would be better for you to be dead than to deny Me. 65 00:04:25.579 --> 00:04:28.899 Right when He said that, this is when He captured what the disciples must have been 66 00:04:28.899 --> 00:04:31.680 doing, as they were all saying, not I, Jesus. 67 00:04:32.160 --> 00:04:32.779 Not me. 68 00:04:32.959 --> 00:04:34.180 I would not deny You. 69 00:04:34.180 --> 00:04:38.939 But you look at this, we look at the disciples, we look at all the people sitting here. 70 00:04:39.899 --> 00:04:42.560 And how many people actually did deny Jesus? 71 00:04:44.160 --> 00:04:49.639 Before and after, during this, and so all of them were wondering who would be denied. 72 00:04:49.860 --> 00:04:53.120 But ultimately, I was looking at this, and I wanted to break down. 73 00:04:53.360 --> 00:04:57.379 We hear about these 12 disciples, we know that they followed Jesus, we know that Jesus 74 00:04:57.379 --> 00:05:02.019 empowered them, just like He's empowered us to go lay hands on the sick and heal 75 00:05:02.019 --> 00:05:04.860 the sick and to drive out demons and all this different stuff. 76 00:05:05.180 --> 00:05:08.699 But the 12 disciples that He used weren't perfect people. 77 00:05:09.980 --> 00:05:14.839 That He used the imperfect people, He uses broken people. 78 00:05:16.560 --> 00:05:21.199 And what Jesus did with these 12 disciples, I mean, He flipped the world upside down. 79 00:05:22.199 --> 00:05:27.459 That these 12 disciples, He flipped the world upside down, and so as we go through these 80 00:05:27.459 --> 00:05:36.480 12 disciples, Jesus has a tendency of picking nobodies, turning them into somebodies in 81 00:05:36.480 --> 00:05:37.279 front of everybody. 82 00:05:38.620 --> 00:05:42.220 And if He could do that with 12 and change the world, what could He do with Bridge 83 00:05:42.220 --> 00:05:47.079 Church Greenbrier, that we get about 500 here on a Sunday, we could turn this 84 00:05:47.079 --> 00:05:48.899 city upside down for Jesus. 85 00:05:49.259 --> 00:05:52.899 We could reach our communities, we could go to the darkest places in our community, 86 00:05:53.220 --> 00:05:56.279 we could tear this city upside down and turn it to Jesus. 87 00:05:56.699 --> 00:06:02.699 They said there's going to be a great falling away at the end times, but how about we make 88 00:06:02.699 --> 00:06:04.120 it a great coming back, too?
