Gerard was born and raised in Denton where he attended Denton High School and is graduate of both North Central Texas College & University of North Texas. Gerard and his wife, Diane, have been married for 14 years and are raising their 4 daughters, LaNeisha, Jordan, Alice, and Olalla, here in Denton.
A successful businessman, Gerard has a record of bringing people to the table and getting things done that positively impact the community. When first elected Mayor, Denton was facing an unprecedented pandemic, and shortly after taking office, the city experienced one of the worst storms Texas has seen in the past hundred years. Even with these challenges, Gerard kept his promises and led the city to protect and improve the community's quality of life.
