Teaching:

    1. The Lord’s first command to man: Genesis 2:16-17 “The Lord God commanded the man, saying, “From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; but from the tree of knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it, you surely will die.””
    2. Genesis 2:18 “Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.””
    3. And then God’s second command: Genesis 2:24 “For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.”
    4. Genesis 3:9 “Then the Lord God called to the man, and said to him, “Where are you?””
    5. John 14:15: “If you love Me, you will keep my commandments.”
    6. Luke 9:23-24 “And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me. The Great Commission - Matthew 28:18-20 “And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth, GO therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”” Jesus defines disciples as leaners of the Word of God. John 8:31 “So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed in Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of mine.””
  6. Part 9 Summary:
    1. The next commandment that I would like to review: Faith in our Lord and Savior MUST be childlike.
    2. Matthew 18:1-5 “At that time the disciples came to Jesus and said, “Who is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” And He called a child to Himself and set him, before them, and said “Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever then humbles himself as a child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one such child in My name receives Me;””
    3. Proverbs 3:34 “God is opposed to the proud but gives grace to humble.”
      1. Psalm 131:1-2 “O Lord, my heart is not proud, nor my eyes haughty; nor do I involve myself in the great matters, or in things too difficult for me. Surely, I have composed and quieted my soul; like a weaned child rests against her mother.” Let us continue our teaching with another commandment: We SHALL forgive others and ask for forgiveness where we sin against someone.
  7. Matthew 6:12 “And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.”
    1. Matthew 18:21-22 “Then Peter came and said to Him, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven time?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.””
    2. Luke 23:34 “But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.””
    3. Matthew 6:14-15 “For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.”
    4. Matthew 26:28 “for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins.”
    5. Luke 17:4 “Be on your guard! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. And if he sin against you seven times a day, and returns to you seven times, saying “I repent, ” forgive him.”
    6. 1 Peter 3:8-9 “To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly kindhearted, and humble in spirit, not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing.”
    7. Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.”
    8. Our last commandment to review today: We MUST be baptized upon acceptance in our heart of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of our life.
    9. Ephesians 5:-2 “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children, and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.” 1 Peter 1:15 “but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves in all your behavior.”
    10. Matthew 3:16-17 “After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he say the Spirit of God descending as a dove and lighting on Him.”
    11. Acts 2:38 “Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.””
    12. Matthew 28:19 “Go, therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.”
    13. Acts 8:34-38 “The eunuch answered Phillip and said, “Please tell me, of whom does the prophet say this” Of himself or of someone else?” Then Phillip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture he preached Jesus to him. And they went along the road they came to some water; and the eunuch said, “Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized?” And Phillip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God.” And he ordered the chariot to stop; and they both went down into the water, Phillip as well as the eunuch, and he baptized him.”
