Global Connections

The Peace Corps is a well-known organization founded in 1961 to send volunteers abroad with a three-fold mission: promote world peace and friendship by improving lives internationally, help others understand U.S. culture, and bring the experiences from volunteers back to the U.S. to engage people at home. With a drastically changing international political climate, the Peace Corps has had to navigate new challenges domestically and abroad. In order to understand how this has impacted members of the Corps and how it can impact those interested in the organization, you’ll hear from several members of the Corps about their experiences, how they dealt with challenges in their assigned countries, and how they feel about the future of the Corps. This episode was originally posted and released on Jan. 30, 2020.
