Today we have a special guest Nate Berkopec, who runs a Ruby on Rails performance consultancy called Speedshop. He’s back with us to catch up and talk about Rails and performance and what’s happening with Puma. Nate tells us about his Rails Performance Workshop he recently released, his book, and he shares advice on what you should do if want to learn more about performance. The guys chat about the release of Hotwire, Nate explains Global VM Lock, Ractor is being released soon, and the “virtual machine” that runs Ruby code.
