“Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.”
Ephesians 6:14-15 NIV
To 'stand firm' is not an option but a command for the Christ follower.
How do I stand firm?
Put On:
The Belt of truth...
Jesus is "the way, the truth, and the life".
John 14:6 NIV
The Breastplate of Righteousness...
The Lord put on righteousness as his breastplate...
Isaiah 59:17 NIV
The Shoes of Peace...
Jesus himself is our peace...
Ephesians 2:14 NIV
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
1 Peter 5:8-9 NIV
