Meet Vaidehi Gajjar, Editor of Health and Human Rights at Brown Girl Magazine. Jerry interviews Vaidehi about the first moment she knew she loved writing and how she found her way to writing for a publication dedicated to South Asian women, something that means so much to her.
We celebrate Vaidehi's works of writing and the healing and connection it has brought to South Asian women across the world, including Vaidehi herself.
We support her work and passion for writing about mental health and other topics that are still a challenge to share with certain members of our community, especially those of our parents' generation.
We are inspired by her pursuit of writing and leadership in her community, in addition to her day job in healthcare administration.
Vaidehi Gajjar is a writer, editor, and mental health advocate heavily involved in South Asian mental health through various nonprofits and organizations, such as the PFA Institute where she serves on the Board of Directors, as well as Circuit Sehat where she is Vice President of Correspondence and focuses specifically on a widespread sexual assault prevention initiative across the South Asian dance circuit. She has also worked with and been featured as part of Harvard Medical School affiliate, McLean Hospital’s Deconstructing Stigma campaign and was able to have her display featured at the Exploring Brain and Mental Health conference in Mumbai, Maharashtra at the Nehru Science Center which went on to be featured in McLean’s yearly magazine, and currently sits in Boston’s Logan International Airport.
