Sermon: “The Blessing of Spiritual Poverty”
Scripture: Matthew 5:1-3
This is the beginning of a series of Thursday homilies on the Beatitudes. Each of them will attempt to get to the ironic twist I believe Jesus was offering. The first one stresses that those who are truly spiritual are only clear about their poverty of spirituality, which means it’s all about grace.
