Show Notes

This podcast is part of a bigger project known as UVic Multicultural: Pax & Diversity through Arts that seeks to contribute to social change through art, meaningful conversations and storytelling. We confront the impacts of colonization onto/into our lands/waters, beliefs, behaviors and bodies. Using land-based learning and Indigenous frameworks with a social justice approach, and equity, diversity and inclusion lens we aim to integrate key educational messages to a multi-cultural audience in the UVic campus and beyond.

This project is social justice-based and human-rights-based. We want to address injustice, discrimination and racism, through educational key messages and storytelling. We believe in intersectionality and decolonization approaches. So, our work acknowledged the intersecting and overlapping social identities and themes and the oppression towards specific groups. However, we want to focus in three main themes: 1) peace & anti-racism education, 2) towards a healthy campus that embraces diversity, equity and inclusion and 3) sustainable development and climate action.

This project received funding from the Uvic Student Life Grant and it is possible thanks to the in-kind support of the Radio Station CFUV 101.9 FM, the Global Pax Collective and the Belfry Theatre.
