What do you do when God seems silent?
Bethlehem means "house of bread," but when Ruth opens, there's no bread. In week one of our series through Ruth, Pastor Jordan walks through Ruth 1. Naomi loses her husband and both sons in Moab, comes home empty, and asks to be called Mara: bitter.
Yet Naomi held two things as true: her suffering was truly horrible, and God is still God. And the chapter ends with a ray of hope, as Naomi and Ruth arrive in Bethlehem at the beginning of barley harvest.
Even when God seems silent, He is still working.
